The intentions of the person who did this were malicious and completely unacceptable - Vicky Finnemore, Boksburg SPCA manager.

The Boksburg SPCA recently rescued a female Africanis dog which was tied with wire to a pole in the veld next to the N3 highway near Vosloorus.
Staff have named the dog Honey.
SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore said a resident of the area sent the SPCA a video in which a dog could be heard barking.

The resident said this had been going on for two days in the veld.
On April 21, the Society searched for the dog for an hour before eventually finding it tied to the pole.
“When we found her she was dehydrated and starving,” Finnemore said.
“This incident is just heart-breaking. We cannot fathom how anyone would be so cruel as to leave their pet to die of starvation in the middle of a busy highway.
