Donate your unwanted goods to charity
When cleaning out all your cupboards, please remember that Hospice East Rand would be extremely grateful for your unwanted goods.
Like many other organisations across the country, some charity shops like Hospice East Rand’s charity shop are being forced to close their doors as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
This, however, doesn’t mean that we should forget about those who are less fortunate.
You are tired of playing board games, binge watching your favourite series or reading that book. Now is the perfect time for you to become one of the many residents using lockdown as an opportunity to declutter their homes.
“While cleaning out all your cupboards, please remember that Hospice East Rand would be extremely grateful for your unwanted goods,” appealed Hospice East Rand’s administration manager Brenda Bisschoff.
According to Bisschoff, the organisation relies heavily on donations from the community, whether it be monetary or unwanted household items.
Hospice East Rand has 11 charity shops situated in Ekurhuleni, and those wanting to donate items they are no longer using can still do that by dropping it at one of these shops when lockdown is over. For bigger or bulk items, Hospice East Rand can collect when lockdown is over.
Proceeds generated in the non-profit organisation’s charity shops are used to fund its work, and your unwanted goods don’t have to be thrown away or lie unused when it can help generate much-needed funds for the needy.
