Protesters blamed for crumbling bridge on Commissioner Street
James George Coke from Witkoppie Ridge writes:
In response to the Advertiser’s article about a bridge that is crumbling on page two of the issue dated March 13; I beg to differ with that sentiment.
Vandals are taking advantage to use the concrete as a source when the community decides to protest, as in blocking the roads.
There is a mentality with some to destroy anything they can get their hands on.
Take a trip further down Commissioner Street towards Germiston, and you will notice that the intersection that used to have traffic lights is now a stop street.
Those traffic lights and the ones in Ramaphosa are now nonexistent due to vandalism.
Let’s see how long the stop signs last before they are stolen to be sold as scrap metal.
