Fast food franchise employee robbed of R6 000

No injuries were reported

The Boksburg North police are investigating a case of armed robbery after an employee from Chicken Licken on Northrand Road in Beyers Park was robbed on the morning of February 25.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the 21-year-old employee was allegedly asked by his manager to seek change at a local bank.

“When the 21-year-old was finished at the bank, he apparently phoned his manager to tell him that he was done. He was allegedly told to wait because a lift was organised to pick him up at the local bank.”

Ramaube said when the victim was dropped outside the outlet, it is alleged he was then approached by an armed man who demanded the money.

“The suspect, who was wearing a balaclava, fled the scene in a Renault Clio. The amount of R6 000 was taken during the armed robbery,” Ramaube said.
