Four men, aged between 42 and 52, have been arrested by the Boksburg North police for allegedly stealing a car engine.
The incident took place on February 15 in Jet Park.
According to Boksburg North police spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, a 47-year-old man told the police that his employee told him that a Toyota engine had been loaded into another vehicle, together with blank invoices.
“The 47-year-old then ran to the dispatch area where he saw a white Nissan bakkie with known registration to the police with the loaded engine. He also alleged to have checked the invoices and realised that they were blank, but where authorised by one of the employees.”
The blank invoices were apparently also stamped by the security officer employed by the company.
“The person who authorised the blank invoices and the security guard were arrested. The driver of the bakkie and the fourth person was also arrested,” Ramaube said.
The four suspects were detained at the Boksburg North Police Station and will appear in court soon.
A case of fraud has been opened at the Boksburg North SAPS.
Investigations continue.
