Cosmos Old Age Home paints the town red

Some of the residents at the home wore red and white to blend in with the theme of the day.

Elderly people from the Cosmos Old Age Home felt young and loved again on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

The home and a few Boksburg residents treated the elderly to a wonderful afternoon packed with red surprises.

This included learners from Laerskool Goudrand who offered residents juice and chocolates.

To top things off, the home decorated their dining room tables red and white, as well as spoiling the elderly to a delicious special Valentine’s menu.

Adri van Ryssen surprised the elderly when she brought baked muffins for everyone.

Marsha van Blerk also came through with her children, holding cupcakes.

Jan Betbeder (74) and his wife Carol (73) spent their Valentine’s Day playing Bingo with some of the residents at Cosmos Old Age Home. They are hairdressers at the home and have been married for 51 years.

They shared that patience and communication are some of the tools that have kept them together, not only as lovers, but friends as well.
