Support Solidarity Helping Hand to help those in need

Helping Hand is an NPO and community initiative that focuses on the relief of struggling people's needs in the community.

Solidarity Helping Hand in Boksburg is still going strong and is urging members of the public to assist them in making a difference in many people’s lives.

Amanda Zeelie from the Boksburg branch said: “The Boksburg branch’s charity shop, trading under the name of Ons Winkel, is located at the Medical Centre at 49 Main Street, Witfield, where they sell all your unwanted items.

“The branch focuses on upliftment of the community by means of various projects, including a feeding scheme for families under their care, clothing assistance, bursary funds for underprivileged students without the means to further their studies after matric, aid to schools, children’s homes, old age homes and homes for the disabled.

“The proceeds from the shop go towards the funding and implementation of the bursary fund and ongoing feeding scheme projects.

“Anyone can donate anything in reasonable condition to be distributed among the needy, including clothes, furniture, appliances, toys, kitchenware, toiletries, linen, unwanted gifts, etc.

“The items that were not distributed are then sold in the charity shop,” Zeelie said.
