Flash floods hit Somalia Park

Although he said emergency crews were on high alert this past weekend for any eventualities that might erupt as a result of heavy rains, the Emergency Services didn’t receive, or attend, to any reports of flooding in Boksburg.

Persistent flash floods across Gauteng on February 8 damaged homes and belongings of Somalia Park’s residents.

Ward 45 Clr Makhosi Lehari said about three houses in Somalia Park were affected by the heavy rains.

“Disaster management team were sent out to assist in the area,” said Lehari.

According to William Ntladi, media liaison of the Emergency Services, he was not aware of the Somalia Park flooding incident, but would investigate.
