Patrolling EMPD officers arrest man for possession of dagga

Aromatic smoke emanating from one of the houses proved to be suspect's downfall

The EMPD has arrested a man in Dawn Park on February 5 for the possession of dagga.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit patrolling the Dawn Park area were attracted by aromatic smoke coming from one of the houses on Riana Avenue.

“A 34-year old male found covered in a cloud of smoke inside the premises. He was arrested and taken to Dawn Park Police Station. This is after officers found 15 ziplock bags and two big glass jars containing dagga valued at R2 000. He was charged with possession of dagga,” he said.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
