Woman pushed out of moving car, spends four days in hospital

The police are investigating a case of common assault.

A 27-year-old spent four days in hospital after being pushed out of a moving vehicle in Cason Road on January 14.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the woman and her friend were waiting for their friend on Cason Road to come pick them up when they were offered a lift.

“The woman said the man who offered them a lift was a foreign national known to the friend she was with. The women got in the vehicle and left with the man,” Ramaube said.

Ramaube said a few minutes later the driver told the women he wanted to take them to Rosettenville, but she refused.

“This is when the driver allegedly pushed the victim out of the car. The woman alleged she then fell and hit a rock,” Ramaube said.

The woman said she was fortunate that someone phoned the ambulance.

No one has been arrested.
