The Boksburg police are asking the public to assist in tracing those involved in separate killings reported within the Boksburg SAPS precinct during the festive season.
The unidentified man’s body, with stab wounds, was found lying on the ground in near Wit Deep Road in Jerusalem informal settlement, on Boxing Day.
According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Const Ntsako Ledwaba, the police were called to the area at about 12.26am, where they found the unresponsive man, who had two wounds, one on the neck and the other on the chest, lying on the ground.
Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.
“It’s unclear if he was killed where his body was found as there was nothing found near the body to indicate that the attack took place there,” said Ledwaba.
* A second Boksburg man, identified as Frank Mbewe, was shot dead during what is believed to be a robbery in his home, on December 28.
Police received a complaint of robbery in the block of flats on corner Commissioner and Hospital Road, just before 7am. They rushed to the scene and found Mbewe lying on the floor, just next to a door, in a pool of blood. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene.
One cartridge and two rounds of live ammunition were found on the scene.
The gunman is still at large.
It is, however, unclear if anything was taken from Mbewe, but police are investigating a case of murder.
