Man injured by lightning strike in Boksburg

The man had apparently been eating lunch with his family under a gazebo when the lightning struck nearby.

A 50-year-old man suffered moderate injuries after being indirectly struck by lightning at a hotel in Boksburg North on Friday afternoon.

According to Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, paramedics received a distress call from our community-based emergency vehicle and were on the scene at about 4pm.

“He suffered burns to his leg as well as other moderate injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to a private hospital in the area for further care.”
