St Francis welcomes new fund-raising officer
Matli is taking over the reins from stalwart Cynthia Dicks, who died earlier this year.
James Matli has recently been appointed as the St Francis Care Centre’s new fund-raising officer, and he is ready for the challenge.
He started his career as an intern at the department of communications. He was also a fund-raiser for the NPO Equal before he became involved with youth development programmes in the vicinity of Ga Dikgale.
Matli has a desire to serve the community and said he is excited about bringing his skills and experience to turn St Francis into a successful organisation.
“It’s a great honour for me to serve as the fund-raising and marketing officer of St Francis. My main objective is to attract new donors to the centre and to ensure that we retain our regular sponsors,” said Matli.
He said he is willing to work his socks off to increase the funding base of the centre.
“It would mean a lot for the centre if we can attract sponsors beyond the Ekurhuleni region. Therefore, I want to work hard to actively promote the good work St Francis does.”
He stressed that St Francis is dependent on donations. Therefore, he is urging members of the community to like their page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/St-Francis-Care-Centre-178926718746/) to stay updated on the latest happenings at the centre.
