Repairs to damaged library ceiling finally starts

It’s still unclear as to how long the reparations is expected to take to complete. This publication is still awaiting the metro’s comment on the cost of repairs, the contractor and projected completion date.

Finally, on November 28, work on repairing the damaged part of the Boksburg Library roofing structure in the city centre has begun.

The library’s adult section had been closed for almost a year, and this was after the roofing structure collapsed onto the section during the last summer heavy rains.

In a previous press statement, the municipality admitted that there have been unreasonable delays in getting the damaged Boksburg Library roofing structure fixed and blamed the delays on the then lack of funds.

Dozens of library users had already complained that the metro’s plan to get the roof repaired was moving at a snail’s pace and that they were being kept in the dark about when the municipality planned to address all the library issues. @MthuphaFanie
