Women survive home invasions in Witfield, Impala Park

Goods worth around R75 000 were stolen in two separate home invasions.

A 43-year-old woman from Witfield told the police she suffered verbal intimidation when robbed.

She and her three children were at home when three men broke the burglar door and robbed them off their belongings

According to Boksburg North spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, during the robbery the suspects allegedly stole a 40 inch TV, one laptop, red Nike running shoes, two cellphones and cash to the amount of R200.

The estimated value of items stolen at the house is R40 000.

* In a separate incident, a 49-year-old woman from Impala Park, who was with her daughter at the time of robbery, told the police that they were held at gunpoint by two suspects.

Ramaube said the suspects stole a 49 inch Hisense TV, one Kindle and two cellphones at the estimated amount of R35 000.

“The suspects allegedly jumped the wall and broke the inside gate and were in possession of a firearm and a crowbar,” Ramaube said.

No shots were fired and no one sustained any injuries.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS. Investigations are still continuing.
