Ridgeview Retirement Village held their annual fête recently, an event that saw the residents and families enjoy a great day.
There was an air of much excitement as the event began with people gathering in the village despite a cool morning.
The early morning rain did not threaten the mood of the residents who worked tirelessly setting up their stalls.
The stalls consisted of pot plants, succulents, woodwork, jams, books, jewellery, knitting and crochet goods, spin and win for youngsters, ice-cream, curry and rice, cold drinks, a tea room, cakes, educational toys, boerewors rolls, pancakes and vetkoek.
Entertainment for the fête included, among others, St Dominics’s Marimba band and Summerfield School dancers.
Julie Koster a Ridgeview Retirement Village official said the event was a huge success.
“Ridgeview Villagers and Management extend their heartfelt thanks to all who contributed towards a wonderful day,” said Koster.
