Cook and Culture: Tips to keep you hydrated and making the best of every moment
Things can get a little bit crowded, busy and overwhelming this time of year, with so many events for the children and the grown-ups. Here are some tricks to keep you going strong

1 Digital
There are so many calendar and event apps that you can download to keep track of everywhere you need to be. Remember to share your calendar with the rest of the family to make sure no one misses a thing. Double bookings can cause so much unnecessary stress.
2 Pro Tip
When there is so much to do you can easily get distracted and overwhelmed, but don’t worry, just take 20 minutes before you start your day and make a to do list. This way you will know what your day holds and you will be so proud every time you can cross something off of that list.
3 Home Remedy
Once again it is mozzie season. Don’t let them eat you alive! Keep the mosquitoes away with citronella oil in your diffuser or burn a lemongrass or citronella candle. Also keep some insect repellent in the car, for when you and the children stay out late.
4 Check It Out
Sometimes we don’t know how to deal with the chaos in our lives, so Sunel wrote a one-woman show about her journey in creating art out of her chaos. Go check out her social media pages to find out more about this show, Chaos tot Kuns, that she will perform at the Little Arts Live Theatre House in Boksburg from October 25 to 27.

7 Have You Seen It Yet?
Who needs Hollywood when we have so many amazing local films breaking theatre boundaries? Show your support for the South African film industry by watching Fiela se Kind, Racheltjie de Beer and Poppie Nongena in cinemas now.
8 Food For Thought
Life gets busy and chaotic, so take a moment to breathe and take care of yourself. It is okay to say no to events or taking on too much. When you commit to something, don’t complain and don’t procrastinate, just do it! Make sure you get enough rest and eat healthy, you want to be ready for anything.
9 Local Is Lekker
Lookout for the winners of the Best Of Ekurhuleni Readers’ Choice Awards. which will be announced on October 24. Keep your eyes open for the Best of Ekurhuleni supplement in next week’s paper for the best restaurants, venues, bands and many more.
