Manager leaves animal society for greener pastures

The Boksburg SPCA staff and committee members recently bid a sad farewell to their manager, Maggie Mudd.

Mudd, who has been a manager at the Boksburg SPCA since June 2015, left the society on August 13 to take up a new position of a liaison officer at the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA).

Boksburg SPCA chairperson Willie du Plessis said: “During Mudd’s tenure with the Boksburg SPCA, her hard work and dedication for the animals and staff have ensured a very high performance standard. This has ensured that the profile and reputation of our society is respected by the Boksburg community as well as the broader animal welfare community. We will continue to ensure that the high standard set by Mudd is maintained throughout.”

The chairperson further said they will still call Mudd for advice and assistance should the need arise.

Meanwhile, the society is still conducting interviews for the manager post.
