MMC for Community Safety meets his head of departments
The MMC of Community Safety invited the heads of departments of EMPD and DEMS together with their divisional heads in a meet and greet session with the purpose of putting faces to the names he has never met before as well as to know his team better.
The newly appointed Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Safety Pheladi Frans Mmoko took up the reins on in June following both the national and provincial government elections which took place in May this year.
According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, Mmoko, who has been a member of the Community Safety Oversight Committee for a couple of years, is well-versed with the happenings in terms of community safety.
Kgasago said community safety comprises of two departments namely the EMPD and disaster and emergency services department (DEMS), at the helm of which are the chief of police Isaac Jabulani Mapiyeye and Sam Sibande respectively.
Kgasago said the messages Mmoko delivered during the session were inspiring and invigorating.
“It augurs well for the team acquitting themselves extremely well for the weighty work that lies ahead,” said Kgasago.
