Vehicle crash in Boksburg claims a life
The cause of the crash is still a subject of investigations by the City of Ekurhuleni traffic officials.
A young male driver was declared dead on scene and the passenger survived with intense injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled several times in Jubilee Road on Friday evening.
According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, rescue team from Boksburg central fire station and paramedics responded to the scene immediately after reception of the call at 10.50pm.
“On arrival, both the driver and the passenger were still caught inside the vehicle.
“Medical treatment was initiated and unfortunately, the driver could not respond positively and was declared dead on scene by paramedics,” said Kgasago.
“The critically injured passenger was transported by an ambulance and admitted in Tambo Memorial hospital for further medical care.”
The road had to be closed for the duration of the operation.
