Constable lauded for bringing to book armed robbers.

The trio were sentenced to 10 years each for robbery with aggravating circumstances.

Reiger Park SAPS Det Const Dumisani Mthembi has been commended for his hard work which yielded some positive results.

Mthembi’s investigation, conducted in collaboration with Boksburg Magistrate’s Court, secured a conviction and sentencing of a gang of armed robbers in connection with a recent case of robbery with aggravating circumstances in the township.

The trio, Ryno Peters (27), Valentino Kruger (24) and Bronwyn Klassen (23), all from Reiger Park, were on June 12 sentenced to 10 years each for robbery with aggravating circumstances in Reiger Park.

On July 10, 2018, at gunpoint they assaulted a Malawian national Giribat Malembo and took his cellphone and R400 in cash.

They pleaded not guilty on February 18, but were found guilty as charged on June 12.

Magistrate Colbert Ramufhufhi presided and prosecutor Fyfe represented the state.
