Young artists awarded with gold at Allegretto Eisteddfod

Their achievements were of such a high standard that all of them qualified for the gala event, the Allegretto Inter-Provincial Eisteddford scheduled to take place in Pretoria later this year.

Three developing artists from Boksburg have recently been honoured at the Allegretto Eisteddfod for the Gauteng East Rand region.

The final prize-giving for the region was held in Benoni.

All three of them are at primary school level and are enrolled for after-school art classes with Boksburg artist Lea Kirsten from Sunward Park. They received gold awards for their outstanding art work entered for the event.

Their teacher’s passion for art has clearly visualised in their love for painting.

Ulrike Krauss achieved gold for her oil painting Sisters and her paintings, and Carla Viljoen also received gold for her art work Boots. The third gold achiever is Lianke McDonald, for her acrylic elephant painting.
