Support Round Table’s annual blanket drive

Collection of blankets and non-perishable food will be held on June 1

Round Table Boksburg 17 will be selling blankets for R50 for their annual blanket drive.

Donations of blankets and non-perishable food may be dropped off at the clubhouse, 32 Lancaster Road on June 1 between 5pm and 6pm.

Winter Knights is a home-grown and hands-on Round Table SA project that encompasses a campaign in aid of those less fortunate during the cold winter months by collecting blankets, clothes and non-perishable foodstuffs.

The items donated to Round Table Boksburg 17 will be distributed in the Boksburg area.

According to André van Vuuren from Round Table Boksburg, last year’s drive was a great success and believes that they can do it again this year. They hope to gather 200 blankets at Saturday’s drive.

“We want to buy much-needed food with the money we raised and will also get blankets if we don’t reach our target . “Winter can be extremely cold and we are passionate about helping people.”

The support of the community is therefore urged.
