In was a procession of blue light as law enforcement vehicles traveled to Martin Primary School on April 26 for the introduction of the Adopt-A-Cop initiative.
This event is aimed at reviving school safety forums and encouraging learners to report crime.
Members from the Boksburg North SAPS, EMPD K9 Unit, SAPS Mounted Unit and CPF attended the introduction event.
Appointed Sector Four manager Captain Lesiba Ledwaba will be heading up the Adopt-A-Cop initiative at the school.

His responsibility will be to liaise with the school and the school will also report any problems within the school directly to him.
Boksburg North station commander Col Kumbulani Mbatha said the aim of the project was to build a good relationship between the police and schools.

“Adopt-A-Cop will create a safer school environment in order to curb horrendous incidents taking place in schools across the country recently,” he said.
An Adopt-A-Cop certificate was handed over to the school principal Hennie Theron.
