Stabbed for not paying back borrowed money

Investigations continue into two cases of assault

A 43-year-old man was stabbed for not having money on him on March 24.

“The man alleged that he was stabbed on his left shoulder with a knife,” said Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Justice Ramaube.

Ramaube said the suspect allegedly stabbed the man after he borrowed money and the victim said he had no money.

“After being stabbed the victim’s wife phoned the ambulance which took him to hospital for observation.

“A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS,” Ramaube said.

  • In another case, a 33-year-old suspect has been arrested for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

According to Ramaube, on March 23 around 9.40am he was assaulted and hit by an iron rod at a scrapyard in Witfield.

Ramaube said the victim sustained injuries on his head.

“The victim did not mention why he was hit with the iron rod on his head. The victim was issued with a J88 form for further medical observation,” he said.

The suspect was detained and investigations into the matter continue.
