Woman in hot water over stolen properties

Some of the recovered items were allegedly stolen last year during house robberies in and around Boksburg North.

A 42-year-old woman has been arrested for possession of suspected stolen properties.

The Boksburg North officers got a tip-off about a woman who allegedly drove around with the loot.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Const Justice Ramaube, through tracing and constructive investigation of WO Robert Ngomane, Sgt Rodger Nkumane and Const Tshegofatso Mokoena, they managed to apprehend the suspect in Angelo informal settlement.

At the time she was driving her vehicle.

“When officers searched the vehicle they found suspected stolen items such as two televisions, a Samsung microwave, two laptops, Sony subwoofer with five speakers, laptop charger, and two remote controls. When police asked the suspect to produce a proof of purchase or invoice she failed to do so.”

Ramaube said when the suspect failed to give a satisfying explanation to the officers, the suspect took the officers to her residential place in Spruitview where other stolen properties were recovered.

“Some of the items recovered at the house was a television, washing machine, Honda motorbike, two wheels, five solar panels, two laptops and a gazebo,” he said.

Police have taken all recovered stolen items and the vehicle involved in a commission of crime to the evidential storage at the Boksburg SAPS.

She was arrested and detained at the Boksburg North SAPS.

Ramaube said through investigation it was also discovered that the woman was once arrested for murder.
