Two sentenced for murder

Both cases were investigated by the Dawn Park SAPS

Phindile Magagula was recently found guilty by the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to 12 years for murder.

According to Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson Const Nkemeleng Mabula on July 28, 2018, the police received a complaint of murder at Windmill Park.

“On arrival police found a man lying on the floor inside the house,” said Mabula.

“It was alleged that the girlfriend had an argument with the boyfriend and Magagula stabbed the deceased several times in the body. The man was later certified dead by paramedics.”

A case of murder was opened and was assigned to Det Const Tshidiso Selele.

• Meanwhile, 21-year-old Neo Canga was found guilty by the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to 15 years for murder.

Mabula said on July 7, 2018, the Dawn Park police received a complaint of murder at Lavilla Tavern in Villa Liza.

“On arrival police found a man lying down covered with a blanket and was declared dead by paramedics.”

A case of murder was opened and was assigned to Det Const Phelani Mhlongo. The suspect was arrested at Somalia Park on July 11.
