
Police are investigating the murder of a man who was recently shot multiple times on Main Reef Road, near Goodluck Tavern in Angelo informal settlement.
Ledwaba said police received a complaint of a shooting in progress in the informal settlement and upon arrival they found an unresponsive man lying on the ground.
He was declared dead by paramedics and his body was taken to the state mortuary in Germiston.
The deceased had suffered gunshot wounds to the head, neck and upper body.
In his pockets, police found a black magazine resembling a firearm magazine, a cellphone and a R20 note. Four brass cartridges and a projectile were found next to his body.
Man found dead in Angelo
In Angelo, another man who had suffered a gunshot wound was found lying dead on the street on March 3. Police have registered a murder case.
Dunswart murder
Police are also investigating the killing of a man whose body was found riddled with bullets in Dunswart, on March 2.
It was at about 10pm when police received a call about a shooting along Main Reef Road. Officers rushed to the scene and found the unresponsive man lying next to his Toyota Etios, which was damaged after apparently crashing into a nearby concrete fence during the shooting.
The deceased had gunshot wounds in his stomach and chest, and the car had bullet holes in its body, window and door panel. The man was declared dead on scene and his body was transported to the Germiston state mortuary.
