Four men and one woman have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 29-year-old man from Mapleton.
The man, who has since been found, was taken from his Mapleton home in the early hours on Friday, August 10.
Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson Constable Nkemeleng Mabula said the brother of the kidnapped man told the police that a group of men took his brother after accusing him of stealing their cellphone.
“A docket of kidnapping was opened and the detectives followed a lead which led them to a house in Fochville where they found the 29-year-old injured.
“In the house, they also found the four men and one woman,” Mabula said.
The suspects were arrested and detained at the Dawn Park SAPS.
The kidnapped man was rushed to hospital.
