Mandela Day brings more smiles to the less fortunate
S4 Auto and Siyabonga Africa reached out to the homeless, the abandoned and the forgotten.
On Mandela Day, July 18, the S4 Auto team spent 67 minutes handing out fresh bread and warm blankets.
The S4 Auto team went out into the streets of Boksburg and Benoni giving back to people who are in need.
Principal dealer Mohammed Paruk said: “We take so many things for granted in life, yet there are so many people who would give anything just for a blanket to keep warm.
“This was very exciting yet emotional for many. People lined up for food and blankets eager to be warm in this cold winter. There are so many children and adolescents who are going to sleep hungry and cold. We believe that starting small we will see a big change.
“A thousand words cannot describe the gratefulness on a child’s face when given something so small that we take for granted. “A big thank you to the management at S4 Auto as well and everyone who was part of the blanket drive.”

* Meanwhile, Siyabonga Africa reached out to the homeless, the abandoned and the forgotten people in dire circumstances in and around the CBDs of Springs, Brakpan, Benoni and Boksburg.
By the end of the week, more than 400 people who live in utter poverty were impacted upon by the work of the organisation.
In Cason Road, more than 100 adults and children received aid in the form of food, blankets, beanies, gloves and goodies.
An elderly man, with gaping wounds on his legs, requested medical help, and a place to stay.
Siyabonga Africa is in the process of linking him to a specialised care facility.
