Two arrested for being in possession of stolen property

The following cases were reported at the Boksburg North SAPS:

  • A hijacking suspect was arrested on May 24.

The complainant was travelling along Atlas Road, Anderbolt, at about 5pm on May 23, when a man pointed a firearm at him.

Two suspects took his bakkie and put him in another vehicle. The suspects dropped him in Soweto. On May 24 the complainant notified the Boksburg North SAPS that he recognised one suspect in a Nissan taxi, which led to the arrest.

  • A man was arrested after he was found with stolen property in his possession.

On May 16, a business owner in First Street, Boksburg North, saw a man stealing his chairs.

The police were contacted, which led to the arrest.

  • On May 16, a suspect was arrested with primary school books in his possession.

The complainant received information from the school that two suitcases with books were stolen. On his way to his house, he saw the suspect with the books.

The police were contacted and an arrest followed.

The following arrests were made from May 13 to 19: Theft 5; possession of illegal substances 21; warrant of arrests 4; possession of stolen property 2; contravening of Second-Hand Goods Act 6; National Road and Traffic Act 10; contempt of court 1; shoplifting 4; armed robbery and kidnapping 3; common robbery 3; dealing in illegal substances 2.
