Taking the fight to crime in Reiger Park

Hundreds of crime-awareness leaflets were also distributed to residents during the event.

In partnership with several local organisations, the Reiger Park police recently organised a crime awareness campaign in Reiger Park.

Substance abuse, drug trade, sexual abuse and domestic violence were among the many social ills prevalent in the township the campaign sought to address.

Members of the SAPS, CPF, Youth Desk, SAPS’ Women’s Network and the Christian Bikers Club together visited different crime hotspots in the area and offered residents some useful crime prevention advice.

The team, along with residents, later converged on the vacant piece of land next to the police station where pastors spread the word of God.

The hungry were also fed at a soup kitchen which was specially organised for the event.

To report a crime in the Reiger Park SAPS polling precinct, phone: Control Room 011 916 7000.
