From May 1, the Boksburg North SAPS firearm office will only be doing applications on an appointment basis.
This is to assist the community in streamlining the application process and to limit the waiting period for applications.
Appointments can be made by phoning 011 898 3034/5 or 082 331 0236 or in person at the police station between 8am and 1pm.
No incomplete applications will be accepted. If incomplete, the applicant will have to book another appointment. Application forms, as well as a checklist can be collected at the SAPS firearms office.
All renewal applications must be handed in 90 days before the expiry date, as per the Firearms Control Act of 2000.
