Aerotropolis Chamber of Commerce to train waitrons

The Aerotropolis Chamber of Commerce has negotiated a 50 per cent discount for this first course.

The Aerotropolis Chamber of Commerce, in support of getting South Africa moving again, is offering hospitality and restaurant training.

According to Derek Fox, executive committee member of the chamber, one should never underestimate the importance and the power of the role as a waitron.

“The entire restaurant experience is in the hands of the waitron. When you have great service at a restaurant, your experience is great, when you don’t, suddenly the food wasn’t great either.”

Fox describes the training session as a great opportunity to learn how to be an outstanding waitron and enter the hospitality industry, or to up one’s skill.

“With this skill, you can literally travel the world,” said Fox.

He encouraged employers, restaurant owners, and food business owners to get on-board with this initiative by sending their staff for training.

“There is also the opportunity to become a trainer. The first course will double as a train-the-trainer opportunity.”

To be considered for a trainer, email Fox at derek@succeedbrokers.com or your CV to derek@succeedbrokers.com

Fox said travel and tourism contribute seven per cent to the country’s GDP and employment. “It is, therefore, a big deal. It is one of the largest industries in the world and a focus area for South Africa to grow jobs and the economy.”

“Your investment in your future or upskilling yourself will be R995. The course will run for two full months.”

Those interested can call Esther on 010 285 0313. Only 30 applicants will be considered for the course.
