New president for Boksburg High Interact

Interactants enjoy a programme that offers fun, meaningful service activities while providing them with a chance to develop leadership skills and meet new friends.

Bontle Serothwane was inducted as the 2018 president of the Boksburg High School Interact Club at its recent inauguration.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Martin Stokes, the president of the sponsoring club of Boksburg Lake, and Rotary Anns’ president-elect Pam Daniell, who both wished the club well.

Convenors for the Interact Club are teacher Kayla Miranda and her colleague Katharine Lake, who assists Kayla.

Miranda said she will keep the club active and encouraged members to work together on interesting projects in their community.

Serothwane was inducted by outgoing president Nosipho Khanyile, who presented an enthusiastic report on the past year.

“Club members learnt to stick together through thick and thin and the school’s support ensured that projects were successful in helping others out there. We are better together and we need to remember that changing the world starts with reaching out to our local communities,” said Nosipho.

Serothwane will be assisted by a lively committee, which consists of vice-presidents Sanjana Omnath and Micaela Mendes, secretary Jade Lange, treasurer Siobhan Langford, public relations officer Mmankele Monareng and marketing co-ordinator Siphosihle Tsotsa.
