Lieutenant Colonel Paul Mathebula, a former acting station commander at Actonville SAPS, is the Reiger Park SAPS’ new station commander. He took over the reins at the police station last month after the former boss, Col Else Mashinini, was promoted and transferred to Actonville SAPS.

Mathebula described himself as a hard-working officer who likes to operate on the ground, and extended a warm welcome for all community members.

His focus, he said, will be drugs, gangs and illegal shebeens – which have plagued the community for years now. He also wants to mobilise the community to unite against the common enemy, crime.
