Residents of Wards 31 and 43, which includes Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Klippoortjie, Groeneweide, Windmill Park, Dawn Park and Van Dyk Park, are invited to a public meeting at Sunward Park High School at 6pm on January 24.
Human Settlements MMC Lesiba Mpya is expected to give residents feedback on the progress of the mega housing project, known as the Leeuwpoort project, which is coming to the area.
During the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to elect people who will serve as members of a steering committee for the project.
Ward 43 Councillor Bruce Reid stressed that being a steering committee member is a voluntary position and there will be no remuneration for attending meetings. The elected persons will be responsible for giving feedback to the community in the areas for which they are elected.
