Power restored fully in Boksburg

A faulty voltage cable at the Witkoppie substation necessitated the metro to implement loadsheiddng in numerous suburbs in Boksburg during the week as repair work continued.

This has left residents frustrated and angry as power was switched off at around 12pm, only to be switched on in some areas after 5pm.

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said all areas have been restored.

“There haven’t been any load  shedding today,” said Gadebe.

“Technicians managed to restore power since last night, currently they are just finalizing their work and all should be completed by 3pm.”
