Boksburg SPCA manager Maggie Mudd said the money raised will be used wherever it is needed and also enable the SPCA to feed and provide a treat to the many animals in its care over the festive season.
“We are extremely pleased and grateful for the money donated to the cheer fund to date and thank each and every donor for their contribution, no matter how big or small. Every cent will help us tremendously.
“While I cannot say specifically how the money will be used, it will certainly go towards services like our outreach programme, which helps residents who can’t afford to sterilise their pets and many other essential services,” she said.
The cheer fund will run until the end of January.
