Hospice tea raises R4 000
Hospice East Rand’s ladies tea fund-raiser on Saturday, December 2 brought in R4 000.
The event was held at a home in Millin Street, Parkrand. The money was raised through the sale of tickets and raffles.
Organisers Laura Kirsten and Catherine Bekker of Hospice East Rand said the money will go towards helping terminally ill patients across Ekurhuleni.
The event featured a morning of dancing to popular sing-a-long tunes, and delicious light refreshments were served.
Kirsten extended a heartfelt thanks to all the generous women who came to support the initiative.
Hospice East Rand takes care of the terminally ill in areas including Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, Germiston, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Bedfordview, Springs, Nigel and Heidelberg.
The organisation also offers a daycare programme in Benoni once a week, and twice a week in Vosloorus, for patients well enough to attend.
