The municipality has confirmed that the amenity remains closed to the public as workers are still busy with construction to upgrade the facility.
According to Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe, the R6-million revamp is expected to be completed by June 30, 2018.
“The upgrades at Boksburg Lake are moving according to the planned schedule, after the metro closed the lake for massive renovations in June this year,” Gadebe said.

“As part of the upgrades, the metro is constructing a new amphitheatre, two new ablution blocks, paving of walkways and a new parking area, among other things.
“The city apologises for the inconvenience and assures residents that they will be kept abreast of progress on the project until the lake is reopened to the public.”
