The ceremony was held at the Boksburg Civic Centre on Friday, November 3.
The prestigious event, at which various organisations were honoured, was the fourth annual ECD awards ceremony hosted by the Ekurhuleni metro.
According to metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe, the event aims to acknowledge the significant role played by practitioners in creating incubators to stimulate cognitive growth in the early stages of children’s lives.
During the event, winners were presented with awards in various categories, including Most Improved Centre in an Informal Settlement, Most Innovative Centre, Centre of Excellence, Best Home-Based Centre and Best Practitioner of the Year.
