Dawn Park officer first runner-up in Detective Group of the Year category

The awards ceremony took place at Carnival City on October 13.

WO Ben Selekane, from the Dawn Park Police Station, received an award for the first runner-up: Detective Group of the Year 2016/17.

The Ekurhuleni Central Cluster consists of 11 police stations; Actonville, Benoni, Boksburg, Boksburg North, Brakpan, Crystal Park, Dalpark, Daveyton, Etwatwa, Putfontein and Reiger Park.

Selekane joined the SAPS in 1989 and in 2009 he moved to the Dawn Park SAPS.

Expressing his excitement, he said: “I feel honoured, courageous and motivated to arrest more criminals.”
