Watch: Dedicated team working on restoring power after substation fire

Ekurhuleni metro said it is 'all hands on deck' to restore power after the fire which broke out at a substation in Jet Park yesterday (October 9), leaving several suburbs in the dark.

According to Themba Gadebe, Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson, a dedicated team of engineers is working around the clock to replace damaged electrical equipment at the Yaldwyn Road substation.

“Engineers have assessed the severity of the damages and power supply has been restored to most parts of the affected areas, except for Jet Park and parts of Ravensklip,” he said.
