Boksburg like so many other Ekurhuleni cities were hit by a thunderstorm which included hail.
The City of Ekurhuleni has reported it is is aware of power failure affecting major parts of Boksburg including Jet Park due to the fire damage at the substation.
According to the metro, estimated restoration time will be communicated after the fire has been extinguished and assessment of the damage has been done.
On social media there are already fears circulating the power outage may last for days, which will impact traffic by tomorrow morning as well.
