Local teacher facing assault charge
Boksburg police are investigating a case of common assault which was opened at the police station on September 14 against a teacher at Hoërskool Voortrekker.

The complainant is a parent of a learner who was allegedly assaulted by the teacher.
The principal of Hoërskool Voortrekker, Tinus van Heerden, confirmed that an incident between the teacher and the learner had taken place and acknowledged the child’s finger had been injured.
When confronted by the child’s mother, van Heerden said she should open a case of assault if that is what she believed had happened.
He said the Gauteng Department of Education had been notified about the incident.
