Huis Dien Bothma reflects on a challenging, but successful year
SAVF Huis Dien Bothma reflected back on a great 2016/17 financial year at its annual general meeting (AGM) held on September 12.
“Huis Dien Bothma experienced many changes and challenges during the last period, but with a fantastic team – under the leadership of Tiekie Mertens (manager) – we have purposefully and professionally made very good progress,” said the chairperson, Tertius Wessels.
“With the changes and challenges we were able to have a fantastic year and we are extremely excited to complete a few ongoing projects.”
Huis Dien Bothma was able to finalise the new guard house, painting of the passages inside the facility and also renew the shaded parking.

The rest of the passages (frail care and Alzheimer’s) will be done and there are still projects ongoing in the new financial year to enhance the image of the facility.
The Board of Management also has many dreams for the facility.
“Our main objective, the legacy we hope to leave is a resilient, sustainable, financially sound organisation, for without that there can be no further dreaming and planning,” said Wessels.
He thanked his fellow management committee members for their tireless commitment to this objective.
Wessels also thanked the funders and volunteers who help to make this dream possible and the residents, members and staff who make the dream a reality.
The 2016/71 remains the same for the New Year, with one new member.
