A flood of water troubles in Morganridge, Dyanglen

Residents of Morganridge and Dyanglen have been dancing around in the shower because of the low water pressure these areas have been suffering for the past two months.

Dyanglen resident, Shaun Westaway, has logged about 10 calls with the Ekurhuleni metro and when he follows up, he’s allegedly told that the call has been closed.

“This is becoming a joke; the metro is not helping much,” said Westaway.

The Advertiser tried to get hold of the ward councillor, Ruhan Robinson, but to no avail.

He wrote on the Ward 22 Service Group Facebook page: “With regard to low water pressure in Dayanglen/Morganridge, the department and I are at odds because according to the engineer, they have fixed all they know of and there is nothing on the EMIS system to help them locate the problem.”

He asked all affected parties to log a complaint citing their own address and to send it to him with the reference number.

“I want to make sure they follow up and they get a clear indication of where to look,” wrote Robinson.

“Everything the department has done to ‘fix it’ has clearly not addressed the issue.”

A lot of residents shared their frustration on the post.

The Advertiser contacted the Ekurhuleni metro for comment, but is still waiting for a response.
