The accused, from Holomisa informal settlement, is reportedly the owner of the scrapyard and was the driver of the Audi.

While the Advertiser reported the value of the copper cable was R150 000, as stated by the Ekurhuleni SAPS Central Cluster, senior prosecutor at Boksburg Magistrate’s Court, Henk Strydom said there are discrepancies regarding the actual value.

Police have not yet charged any of the other suspects in the case and the matter was postponed to September 19 for further investigation.
