Just in: Suspected car thief shot in medical centre’s parking lot
An suspected car thief was shot and wounded while he and accomplices were allegedly attempting to steal a car in the Medicross parking area, in North Rand Road, at about 10.50am this morning (August 15).
According to the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Capt Juanita Coetzer the man and two accomplices were caught red-handed.
Someone reportedly shot at the suspects, hitting one of them in his lower body, before he was apprehended.
The two accomplices jumped into a bakkie and fled the scene.
House- and car-breaking implements belonging to the suspects were recovered.
The arrested suspect was taken to hospital under police guard.
He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court once charged.
